Yuki Tsunoda’s race at the 2023 Italian Grand Prix was over before it even began. The Japanese driver crashed out in the first corner, bringing out the safety car and effectively ending his chances of a good result.
Yuki Tsunoda has encountered a power unit failure during the formation lap of the Italian Grand Prix.
As the drivers drove around to warm up the tyres, the Japanese driver could be seen pulling over on the side of the Monza track. The start of the race has been delayed whilst the AlphaTauri is removed from the track and the team now just rely on Liam Lawson, who is standing in for Daniel Ricciardo, to hopefully bring home some points during the race.
However, the crash was a reminder of the challenges that Tsunoda faces in his rookie season. He has made several mistakes so far this year, and he needs to find a way to be more consistent if he wants to be a success in Formula One.
The crash also highlighted the dangers of racing at the Italian Grand Prix. The circuit at Monza is one of the fastest in the world, and it is not uncommon for drivers to crash out. Tsunoda is not the first driver to have his race ended in the first corner at Monza, and he is unlikely to be the last.
Tsunoda will be hoping to bounce back from this setback in the next race, which takes place in Russia on September 25th. He will need to be more careful if he wants to avoid any more crashes, but he also needs to find a way to be more aggressive if he wants to score points.shareGoogle it
