The New York Yankees fell to the Baltimore Orioles 1-0 on Friday night, in Aaron Judge’s return from a toe injury.

Judge went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first game since June 3. He was activated from the 10-day injured list before the game.

The Orioles scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. Trey Mancini hit a solo home run off of Yankees reliever Miguel Castro.

The Yankees had a chance to tie the game in the top of the ninth, but they were unable to get the job done. DJ LeMahieu led off the inning with a double, and Gleyber Torres followed with a single. However, the next two batters struck out, and the Yankees fell to 47-41 on the season.

Judge’s return was a boost for the Yankees, but they were unable to get the win. They will look to bounce back on Saturday, when they face the Orioles again.

Judge was the Yankees’ leading hitter before he was injured, hitting .287 with 27 home runs and 53 RBIs. He is expected to be a key part of the Yankees’ offense as they try to make a run at the playoffs.

The Orioles, meanwhile, are in last place in the AL East. They have won just two of their last 10 games.

The game was played in front of a crowd of 29,298 at Camden Yards.

Here are some other notable things that happened in the game:

  • Yankees starter Gerrit Cole allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings.
  • Orioles starter Jordan Lyles allowed two runs on four hits in five innings.
  • Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth inning.

The Yankees will look to get back on track on Saturday, when they face the Orioles again. The game will be played at 1:05 PM ET.
