Bruce Springsteen has postponed his ongoing tour due to a bad case of peptic ulcer. The singer-songwriter announced the news on his social media channels on Wednesday, September 7.

“I’m so sorry to have to do this,” Springsteen said in a statement. “I’ve been working hard to overcome this ailment, but the situation has gotten worse, and I’m not going to be able to perform until I’ve fully recovered.”

Springsteen has been on tour since February in support of his latest album, “Letter to You.” The tour was originally scheduled to end in November, but all of the September performances have been postponed.

“I’m going to focus on my health and get back on the road as soon as possible,” Springsteen said. “I’m deeply grateful for the support of my fans, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.”

Peptic ulcers are sores that develop in the lining of the stomach or small intestine. They are caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria, stress, and certain medications.

The condition is usually treatable with medication, but it can sometimes require surgery.

Springsteen is 72 years old and has been a major force in American music for over 50 years. He has won 20 Grammy Awards and has sold over 120 million albums worldwide.

He is known for his energetic live performances and his poetic lyrics.

Springsteen’s fans are disappointed by the news of his postponement, but they are also understanding. They are sending him messages of support and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Springsteen is expected to resume his tour in October. The full list of postponed dates can be found on his website.

In the meantime, Springsteen is asking his fans to “stay tuned” for updates on his health and his return to the stage.
