Suzuka, Japan – September 24, 2023

In a sensational display of racing prowess, Red Bull Racing secured the coveted 2023 Constructors’ Championship title during the Japanese Grand Prix at the iconic Suzuka Circuit. Max Verstappen, driving for Red Bull, delivered a dominant performance that left the competition trailing in his wake.

Before the race commenced, the Red Bull team understood that they needed to accumulate just one more point than their arch-rivals, Mercedes, to maintain their grip on the Constructors’ Championship. Additionally, they had to ensure that Ferrari didn’t outscore them by a daunting margin of 24 points.

The race weekend got off to a tumultuous start as Sergio Perez, Verstappen’s teammate, retired amidst the chaos of the Grand Prix’s opening laps. However, Max Verstappen’s flawless execution from pole position proved to be the decisive factor. Not only did he secure victory, but he also secured the fastest lap of the race, adding a substantial 26 points to Red Bull’s tally.

Ferrari, another contender in the championship race, managed to collect 20 crucial points, with Charles Leclerc finishing in fourth place and Carlos Sainz securing sixth place. In contrast, Mercedes faced a less fortunate outcome, with Lewis Hamilton finishing fifth and George Russell in seventh place.

The final results cemented Red Bull Racing’s claim to their sixth Constructors’ Championship title, much to the delight of team principal Christian Horner and the entire Red Bull squad.

Although Max Verstappen’s outstanding performance put him on the brink of the Drivers’ Championship title, he did not secure it in Japan. He currently holds a commanding lead in the driver standings, with a 177-point advantage over his teammate, Sergio Perez. As the championship race intensifies, all eyes are now on the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix Sprint weekend, where Verstappen aims to further solidify his quest for the Drivers’ crown.

The Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka will undoubtedly go down as a pivotal moment in the 2023 Formula One season, with Red Bull Racing emerging as the undeniable force to beat in the Constructors’ Championship race.
