Sumter, South Carolina — No. 4 Sumter High School broke away from Goose Creek High School in the second half to win 50-15 on Friday night.
The Gamecocks led 24-15 at halftime, but they outscored the Gators 26-0 in the second half.
Sumter’s offense was led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, who threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Zamir White rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Goose Creek’s offense was led by quarterback Moore, who threw for 120 yards. Running back Tyquan Reid rushed for 75 yards.
The win improved Sumter’s record to 3-0. Goose Creek fell to 0-2.
