LPGA Tour Heads to Portland, Europe Crowns Final Ryder Cup Qualifiers

The LPGA Tour heads to Portland, Oregon this week for the Cambia Portland Classic. The tournament is the second of three events leading up to the 2023 Solheim Cup, which will be played in September in Spain.

The field in Portland is headlined by Nelly Korda, who is the defending champion. Other top players in the field include Lydia Ko, Jin Young Ko, Danielle Kang, and Lexi Thompson.

The European Tour is also in action this week, with the Omega European Masters taking place in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. The tournament is the final qualifying event for the 2023 Ryder Cup, which will be played in September in Rome.

The field in Crans-Montana is headlined by Rory McIlroy, who is the defending champion. Other top players in the field include Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, and Collin Morikawa.

The winner of the Omega European Masters will earn a spot on the European Ryder Cup team. The three other automatic qualifiers will be determined by the European Points List, which is based on the players’ performances on the European Tour in the past two years.

The 2023 Ryder Cup will be played from September 29-October 2 at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome. The United States is the defending champion.
