Amite, LA – Father Mark Beard, the pastor of Amite’s St. Helena Catholic Church, died in a car accident on Sunday morning. He was 57 years old.

The accident happened on LA Highway 10 in Tangipahoa Parish. Father Beard was driving his car when it collided with a truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
