The Indianapolis Colts are nearing the NFL’s 2023 roster cut deadline of 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 29. Teams must reduce their rosters from 90 players to 53 by that time.
The Colts have already made a number of moves in advance of the deadline, releasing veterans Kenyan Drake, Breshad Perriman, and Caleb Sampson. They have also waived wide receivers Tyler Adams, Kody Case, and Nick Eubanks; guard Emil Ekiyor; tight ends Michael Jacobson and La’Michael Pettway; and kicker Lucas Havrisik.
The Colts are expected to make more moves before the deadline, as they need to create room for their draft picks and other players who have been on the practice squad. Some of the players who could be on the chopping block include running back Jordan Wilkins, wide receiver DeMichael Harris, and cornerback T.J. Carrie.
The Colts have a talented roster, but they are also facing a number of tough decisions as they try to get down to 53 players. The next few days will be critical for the Colts as they finalize their roster for the 2023 season.
